The 43rd Annual Buxton Antiques Fair opens its doors on the 16th May at the Pavilion Gardens in Buxton, attracting buyers and sellers from across the UK and is generally considered to be the beginning of the Buxton summer season. This year, there will be over 50 dealers exhibiting top quality paintings and watercolours, antique furniture, jewellery, ceramics, objets d’art, silver, glass, clocks and barometers, bronzes, arts and crafts and maps and prints. This annual highlight of the Derbyshire calendar continues to maintain the highest of standards throughout and serious collectors or first time buyers will all be offered an outstanding range of very carefully selected items.

The Buxton Antiques Fair adopts a policy of offering visitors fully vetted and datelined antiques and works of art. This ensures that all items are authenticated and fall within the datelines set for the Fair giving visitors the added assurance that they can buy these items with complete confidence. The vetting procedure is carried out by a committee of experts led by the Vetting Chairman, Mr Brian Higgins of Yellow Lantern Antiques Ltd, who examine all items exhibited at the fair, prior to opening, ensuring that they are accurately described, totally genuine and of top quality condition. This will give visitors the added assurance that they can buy these items with complete confidence. The Buxton Antiques Fair is one of the UK’s longest established dateline fairs and this year, the opening hours will be from 11am – 9pm on Wednesday 16th and Thursday 17th May, 11am – 6pm Friday 18th and Saturday 19th May and 11am – 5pm Sunday 20th May. There will be a highly prestigious VIP Gala Evening on Wednesday 16th May from 6.30pm – 9pm.
