 Teggs
Nose Country Park is full of mixed habitat consisting of open
heather moorland, meadows and woodlands. The park lies on Teggs
Nose, a distinctive hill where paths take visitors to some exceptional
views. There is a separate visitor centre with a car park. Tegg's
Nose Country Park is the ideal place to break the northern and
central sections of the Gritstone Trail, a 56km/35mile walk
from Disley to Kidsgrove through some of the most rugged and
spectacular scenery in Cheshire. It can be walked over two or
three days, or as a series of shorter, circular walks.

A major project to rebuild
over 500 metres of drystone wall at Tegg's Nose Country Park
began in October 2002 following a successful bid to the Aggregates
Levy Sustainability Fund. In addition to rebuilding existing
walls within the park there are plans to build a new wall at
the entrance of the park. Already an attractive shelter feature
consisting of two overlapping stone walls has been built at
the top of the picnic area and over the next few months schools
and local community groups will be invited to work with artists
to create special seats and other features using local stone.
